BREEAM In-Use is a comprehensive and holistic environmental assessment method for assessing and rating the sustainability of existing, commercial assets. It provides a framework to help owners, managers and occupiers of existing assets successfully adopt sustainable solutions in a cost-effective manner and provides market recognition for their achievements.
The new BREEAM AP (Advisory Professional) Operations qualification is specifically focused on the operational phase of the asset lifecycle. The training course is specifically designed for built environment professionals that are working with existing buildings of all types. The training focuses on how the learner can maximize the value their clients gain from using BREEAM In-Use and successfully supporting their assets through the BREEAM assessment process.
Currently, this training and credential is limited to US-based individuals only. It will be expanded to include other geographies in due course. Course fees include the training, exam administration and the first year of the credential.
AP Operations credential
The AP Operations credential provides recognition that the individual has the skills and experience needed to inform and guide asset management teams in their individual and collective decision-making and evidence preparation to maximize the value of the BREEAM In-Use process.
An annual subscription fee of $325 maintains your Green Book Live listing, ensures you receive regular communications to help maintain their knowledge about the BREEAM USA In-Use program and provides access to BREEAM Projects with the information and tools to maintain your competence. Fifteen hours of sustainability-themed CPD (not necessarily BREEAM specific) is also required annually to maintain your credential.
