BREEAM International New Construction provides an international recognised benchmarking verification framework to deliver sustainable & high performing new build assets.

As a delegate of the BREEAM International New Construction – Existing Assessor course, you will broaden your existing BREEAM Assessment knowledge to obtain the knowledge and skills to assess new build assets around the world.

The comprehensive course covers all aspects of the BREEAM technical manual, preparing you to become a licensed Assessor under the International New Construction scheme.

After completing the course learners will be able to

  • Understand the context for BREEAM International New Construction and the new construction market.
  • Understand and be confident in assessing the technical aspects of the scheme.
  • Understand the assessment and certification process, and support structures in place for the scheme and assessors.
  • Navigate the BREEAM International New Construction technical manual.
  • Successfully carry out BREEAM assessments on new construction projects.

Successfully passing this course and examination enables you to apply for your assessor’s license under the BREEAM International New Construction scheme.

If you are looking to assess projects in the Netherlands, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Germany, or Austria, then you will need to train under the applicable national scheme. Please refer to the relevant National Scheme Operator for that country in order to understand the training requirements.

This course is designed for existing BREEAM Assessors who are keen to broaden their knowledge and extend the range of project they can assess. The course is only available to existing licensed BREEAM Assessors for the following schemes:

  • BREEAM UK New Construction
  • BREEAM UK Non-Domestic Refurbishment and Fit-Out

This course comprises of approximately 20 hours of own-pace online training material introducing you to the BREEAM International New Construction scheme.

Examination

The course programme concludes with an online examination, set at a day and time to be agreed between the learner and ProctorU, who invigilate examinations on behalf of BRE Academy. The BREEAM International New Construction Technical examination must be passed for learners to be classified as competent.

The examination uses an ‘open book’ format, meaning you can use any documents related to the course to aid you.
