Overview
There is increasing evidence that the indoor air quality (IAQ) of the environments in which we live, learn and work has significant effects on our health, wellbeing, performance and productivity. Since in the developed world we spend over 80% of our time indoors this is an important issue – and this is particularly the case for certain vulnerable groups within the population who may spend 100% of their time indoors.
In this presentation Dr Andy Dengel, head of the BRE Environment group, will present an overview of what can cause poor IAQ, what are the adverse effects, how the pollutants can be measured, and how steps might be taken to remedy the situation. In doing this he will draw on case studies from BRE’s research and commercial work on this topic.
